They breed and drug them to grow so large that they can’t even walk, and often break their wings and legs. At slaughter, the birds’ throats are slit and they are dropped into tanks of scalding-hot water—often while they are still conscious. PetSmart - The company's trade in live animals supports a mass-breeding industry which results in abysmal treatment of tiny, vulnerable beings; and ultimately leads to their overpopulation, homelessness, neglect, and suffering. Several Investigations also reveal the horrific conditions that these small animals and birds have to live in. And as if that wasn't enough PetSmart also admits to using Glue Traps to "control" rats and mice—the same animals the corporation sells as "pets"! When animals get stuck in the glue, patches of their skin, fur, and feathers are ripped off their bodies as they struggle to escape. Animals Used For Experimentation...

Mars - Mars Inc.—creator of M&M's, Snickers, Twix, Dove, Three Musketeers, Starburst, Skittles, and other sweets... Recently funded a deadly experiment on rats to determine the effects of chocolate ingredients on their blood vessels. Experimenters force-fed the rats by shoving plastic tubes down their throats and then cut open the rats' legs to expose an artery, which was clamped shut to block blood flow. After the experiment, the animals were killed. Mars has also funded cruel experiments in which mice were fed a candy ingredient and forced to swim in a pool of a water mixed with white paint. Iams - A PETA investigator went undercover at an Iams contract testing laboratory and discovered a dark and sordid secret beneath the wholesome image of the dog- and cat-food manufacturer - Dogs gone crazy from intense confinement to barren steel cages and cement cells, dogs left piled on a filthy paint-chipped floor after having chunks of muscle hacked from their thighs; dogs surgically debarked; horribly sick dogs and cats languishing in their cages, neglected and left to suffer with no veterinary care. The dogs and cats in Iams’ tests are no different from our dogs and cats at home when it comes to deserving companionship, play, a stimulating environment, and the right not to be tormented in painful experiments! Animals Used for Clothing...

Fur - Millions of fur-bearing animals including foxes, beavers, otters, raccoons, minks, coyotes, bobcats, lynxes, opossums, and MANY others are killed each year on fur farms. The animals are kept in cages so small that they can barely move with upto four animals per cage! They languish in traps for days, and the only way of escaping is to chew of there own feet! Only to die later from blood loss, fever or gangerine. To kill the animals without damaging their fur, trappers usually strangle, beat, stomp them to death or use anal and vaginal electrocution . The animals are also gassed & poisoned with strychnine, or have their necks snapped! When the fur is finally peeled off over the animals head  their naked, bloody bodies are thrown onto a pile of those who have gone before them. Some are still alive, breathing in ragged gasps and blinking slowly. Some of the animals' hearts are still beating five to 10 minutes after they are skinned. Wool - In Australia, where more than 50 percent of the world’s wool comes from. Sheep are specifically bred to have wrinkly skin, which means more wool per animal. This unnatural overload of wool causes many sheep to collapse and even die, and the wrinkles collect urine and moisture. Attracted to the moisture, flies lay eggs in the folds of skin, and the hatched maggots can eat the sheep alive. To prevent this so-called "flystrike," lambs are forced to endure a gruesome procedure called mulesing in which huge chunks of skin and flesh are cut from the animals’ backsides, without any painkillers. Some sheep are shipped to the Middle East on crowded ships, these journeys can last for months! The suffering sheep are dragged off the ships, loaded onto trucks, and dragged by their ears and legs to unregulated slaughterhouses, where their throats are slit while they are still conscious. Sheep are gentle individuals who, like all animals, feel pain, fear, and loneliness. No amount of fluff can hide the fact that anyone who buys wool supports a cruel and bloody industry. Leather - Many of the millions of cows and other animals who are killed for their skin endure the horrors of factory farming—extreme crowding and deprivation as well as castration, branding, tail-docking, and dehorning, all without any painkillers. Cows have their tails broken and chili peppers and tobacco rubbed into their eyes in order to force them to get up and walk after they collapse from exhaustion on the way to the slaughterhouse. Animals Used For Entertainment...

Circuses - The fact is, animals do not naturally ride bicycles, stand on their heads, balance on balls, or jump through rings of fire. To force them to perform these confusing and physically uncomfortable tricks, trainers use bloody beatings, routine abuse, whips, tight collars, muzzles, electric prods, bullhooks, and other painful tools of the trade. Elephants trumpet in agony as as the trainers bullhook, with its sharp metal hook and spiked end, tears through there sensitive skin. Big cats are dragged by heavy chains around their neck and hit with sticks, bears whacked and prodded with long poles, and chimpanzees kicked and hit with riding crops. Here is quote from a Circus trainer... “Sink that hook into ’em. When you hear that screaming, then you know you got their attention!!!”              

Tortured for Tourists - In Thailand, approximately 3,800 of the country's estimated 5,000 endangered Asian elephants are in private hands. Most are used as tourist attractions in elephant camps where they are forced to perform circus tricks & give rides. In these 'Training Camps' Still-nursing baby elephants are literally dragged from their mothers, kicking and screaming. They are immobilized, beaten mercilessly, and gouged with nails for days at a time. These ritualized "training" sessions leave the elephants badly injured, traumatized, or even dead!!!
